Wow, this month has truly been crazy! I finished the first book in my duology and then started on the second one. With the final date for crazy writing month being the 31st I officially finished the second book! Here are some fun facts!
Final word count: 71,679
Final chapter count: 22
Written in: 10 days
Highest word count day: The 30th with 15,941 words
This was my second time participating in CWM, last year I wrote one novel, about 100k and wrote 10k in a day! I have improved by a lot from last year to this year, taking my average writing time to the next level and gathering energy and ways to make sure I got my word count down each day.
My total word count for October was: 160,026 words!
I had so much fun writing this month! I’ve been editing heavily for a while now and it was very nice to take a break and sit down with a new story that I had grown excited over while I was plotting it. Now this duology will move to the bottom of the editing pile (which will be picked up again in November) and…maybe…a new project for 2027 will begin it’s plotting phase. (I’ll give you a clue: I’ve done a standalone, a duology, and a trilogy, what comes next? ;) )
But today, and now, I will rest. That was one key to my success: resting. Taking one day and setting it aside to rest, trusting in the Lord to give me the energy I would need for the next week, the next day, the next hour, and the next moment.
I can’t wait to share more about this project that I’ve completed but right now I’d like to leave you with the final words from my novel:
~
Maybe some hated the silence that filled the room that day, but to me there was nothing louder that I could hear than the love for our friend that filled the room.
Now I was sure, the fighting could be put behind us and we could start mending more than physical injuries, but the small broken bits that had always been waiting for someone else to help put them back together.
